Did you know that American Indians and Alaskan natives are disproportionately affected by stalking and at extra risk for being targeted by traffickers?
That’s one reason why I’m so thankful for our Warriors of Hope team who provide critical support and assistance with safety planning, legal advocacy, crisis intervention, emergency services, safe housing, support groups, community education and outreach for those in need. Sadly, abuse and domestic violence comes in many forms…psychological, emotional and financial, not to mention the recent spike in digital abuse (cyberstalking) and stalking.
If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse or fear for your safety due to stalking, please connect with the Warriors of Hope team who strive to provide empowering, trauma-informed support. Warrior of Hope advocates can help you navigate your own situation in a way that feels most comfortable and helpful to you or a loved one and is completely directed by your own choices and how you would like to move forward with support.
Domestic Violence and abuse thrives when we are silent. Please join me this month in pledging to end violence against women by taking action by learning and sharing the facts, join the national effort here: Pledge To End Violence Against Women. And remember our wonderful and dedicated local Warriors of Hope team has a 24 hour crisis line 971-241-3594 and/or the National Human Trafficking Hotline is 1-888-373-7888 or you can text “BeFree” to 233733.
My prayer this month is for justice and healing for victims of trafficking and stalking.
Stay well,
Michael Cherry
